2019 Period of YTB Turkey Internships Starts
This year's opening meeting of the “Türkiye Internships” program was held by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). The program offers internship opportunities to young citizens living abroad and continuing their education in the same country. As part of the Program, young citizens will be able to have a month-long internship experience in various public institutions and organizations in Turkey.
The “Türkiye Internships” program is organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) every year to young citizens living abroad and continuing their education in the same country, to strengthen their social, cultural and economic ties with Turkey. Thanks to the program, young citizens find the opportunity to have internship experience in public institutions in Turkey and learn about the functioning of Turkish institutions and strengthen their communication with one another. Young people who find the opportunity to get to know the institutions and organizations in Turkey are also improving their Turkish proficiency. In the scope of Türkiye Internships program which has entered its seventh term, 400 young people have completed their internships in Turkey so far. This year, 69 young people from 9 countries will do internship for 1 month in various institutions in Turkey. At the tours and trips that will be organized as part of the Program, young people will also explore the historical and cultural places of Turkey.
Speaking at the opening meeting of the program, YTB President Abdullah Eren pointed out that YTB was established to work for the citizens living abroad. President Eren continued: “We have carried out many projects to help citizens living abroad protect their identity and to contribute actively to the communities they are living in. In this context, we give great importance to the activities targeting young people. This year, we aim to bring 10 thousand young people to Turkey through various programs. Thanks to the Türkiye Internships program, young people have the opportunity to get to know the public institutions in Turkey closely while renewing their ties with Turkey.
