Azerbaijan’s Education Minister Ceyhun Bayramov and his delegation visited the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and met with YTB President Abdullah Eren. Both sides evaluated the possibilities of cooperation in the field of education and they spoke about the activities within the scope of Turkiye Scholarships during the meeting. They also underlined student mobility between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Speaking at the meeting, Eren said that the YTB is working in the fields of diaspora, related communities and international students as its main duties.

Stating that international students from almost every country in the world got the chance to study in Turkey with the help of “Turkey Scholarships”, coordinated by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Eren added, “Currently, 17 thousand 500 students from 160 countries have continued their undergraduate, post-graduate and Phd degrees at various universities.”

“Always Ready To Contribute To Azerbaijan”

Underlining that they receive intensive applications from Azerbaijan for the Turkiye Scholarship program, President Eren stated, “We are trying to increase the number of scholarships we provide to our friend and brother country Azerbaijan a little more every year. Fellows and alumni will take our sincerity in relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan much further forward.” He also added that they are always ready to contribute to Azerbaijan in this context.

Expressing his pleasure to be a guest of the YTB, Azerbaijan’s Education Minister Ceyhun Bayramov drew attention to the fact that the Turkiye Scholarship program is ranked as the first preference for Azerbaijani students. Stating that they try to create qualified academic staff in Azerbaijan, Bayramov stressed that cooperation with Turkey is important in this context.

After the meeting, YTB President Abdullah Eren showed Bayramov the Prof. Fuat Sezgin Library in the YTB building. Stressing that 2019 has been declared the

“Professor Fuat Sezgin History of Science Year” by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Eren said that the YTB announced a special scholarship program dedicated to the memory of Professor Fuat Sezgin.
