Cooperation between Diaspora Communities of Turkey and Pakistan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan held a joint press conference following the 6th meeting of the Turkey-Pakistan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad.

“WE STAND READY TO PROVIDE EVERY SUPPORT FOR PAKISTAN’S DEVELOPMENT”

President Erdoğan underlined that Turkey was ready to provide Pakistan with every kind of support that would directly contribute to Pakistan’s development in transport, energy, tourism, sanitary services, law enforcement, education and healthcare.

“Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Diaspora” between the governments of Turkey and Pakistan was signed by the President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Mr. Abdullah Eren and the Deputy Minister of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Mr. Aamir Hasan. Within the scope of the Protocol, the bonds among the overseas citizens of the member countries will be strengthened and a collective mechanism for combatting problems will be developed. In addition, close coordination will be increased through exchange of experience. Underlining that Turkey and Pakistan are brother countries, the President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Mr. Abdullah Eren stated that close coordination on diaspora issues will be ensured under this Protocol. Mr. Eren also added, “We hope that we will increase our cooperation with Pakistan in all activity fields”.
