Cooperation Protocol between YTB and TUBITAK
During the visit to TUBITAK by Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the two institutions signed a protocol for continuing their cooperation and increasing joint studies.
The cooperation protocol signed by YTB and TUBITAK aims to accelerate the efforts to conduct joint scientific studies and enhance information and experience exchange by the institutions. The protocol will facilitate the realization of various joint activities both in the academic and scientific field. With this protocol, it is targeted to create an effective study network for increasing the qualified labor force in Turkey and for identifying and encouraging local and foreign labor force globally, and to carry out joint projects that will develop academic and scientific cooperation.
With this agreement, TUBITAK’s Scientific Centers and Research Centers will be visited as part of the Turkey visits of Turkish-origin young people living abroad, including the Evliya Celebi program of YTB. In this way, academic and technological capacity of our country will be made widely known in the world via TUBITAK’s activities. With these activities, our country’s visible influence in the fields of science, technology and innovation will be increased and Turkey’s processes for investment in the future will be supported in the short term.
Moreover, as YTB’s path crosses with TUBITAK in the field of science diplomacy, joint studies will be planned to allow the students, who are brought to Turkey in scope of the ‘Turkey Internship’ program of YTB, to do internship in TUBITAK and its subsidiaries in accordance with their field of study.
In addition, joint studies will also be conducted in the fields of supporting the R&D projects on the subjects where there is a need for information, data and analysis with regard to the citizens living abroad, planning joint studies for increasing the “Türkiye Scholarship” students’ competency on information technologies, taking necessary steps to make these students take part in TUBITAK-supported projects, and planning joint studies for the Turkish scientists who are residents abroad and/or carrying out their scientific activities abroad.
The protocol is expected to create a positive impact on the activities of both institutions not only in our country but also abroad and for our diaspora in a short time.
