Great Convenience in Customs for Turks Abroad

17 July 2019 Yurtdışı Vatandaşlar

Our citizens living abroad complete their procedures at customs gates faster thanks to the “Vehicle Pre-Declaration Service”. With this service, our citizens will be able to register their vehicles online before they arrive at the customs.

With the “Vehicle Pre-Declaration Service” introduced by the Ministry of Commerce, the customs registration procedures of passengers who enter Turkey with their private vehicles with foreign license plates will be faster and easier. Owing to this service, citizens living abroad can carry out the registration process themselves by entering information about the vehicle owner and vehicle (name, surname, passport/ID no, date of birth, address, country of origin of the person and the vehicle, insurance policy no, license plate no, chassis no., brand, model, type)  into the system, before arriving at the customs. If the owner of the vehicle is not present in the vehicle, then passport details belonging to the person who brings the car should be entered into the system.

Thanks to the service, the procedures which were carried out by customs officers under normal circumstances will not be needed any more and thus the customs procedures can now be completed in a much shorter time. Separate lines have been prepared for those who arrive at customs with a pre-declaration, to ensure they will not wait for others who came without making a pre-declaration. The number of lines can be increased if needed.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE?

Our citizens can access this service that allows quicker and smoother execution of transactions at customs gates, via “E-İşlemler” menu on the Ministry of Commerce web page (www.ticaret.gov.tr). Thus, citizens will be able to enter information about the person and the vehicle online in advance by using the “Vehicle Pre-Declaration Service” displayed on the menu.

WHEN TO MAKE PRE-DECLARATION?

The information recorded in the system will remain in the system for a maximum of 15 days. So, our citizens are advised to make their pre-declaration 15 days prior to their date of entry to Turkey, at the earliest.
