International Students Met on Green Field

International students from various countries that receive education in our country met on the green field for a football match.

Students from different countries that receive education in our country within the scope of Türkiye Scholarships of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) came together for a football match. Attendees to the football match in which also the President of YTB, Abdullah Eren, participated witnessed many enjoyable moments. In the game, the personnel of YTB were pitched against the international students of YTB.

Ghana, Nigeria, Bosnia, Uzbekistan…

In the match in which YTB employees competed against the YTB scholarship students from Ghana, Nigeria, Bosnia, Uzbekistan and from many other countries, the captain of the student team was the President of YTB, Abdullah Eren. Commenting prior to the match, President Eren said “We will make match together with our international students both for recreation and sports. Although I am the President of our institution, I will be in our students’ team. May the best team win.”

One of students in the match, Sheik Cessi from Senegal, stated that he is very happy to be here in Turkey, and affirmed that “It is so beautiful to know students from all around the world, and thus, to know many diverse cultures.”

Uzbek Dilshod Tahiroğlu stated that they are happy and excited that the President of the institution, Abdullah Eren is on their team and wished for a good match.

The match was scene to many interesting moments and rich in score, and the winner was the body of YTB as a whole. Following the match which ended with the score 5-5, students ate the desserts of the Turkish cuisine and conversed while consuming their tea. The employees of YTB stated that it was a beautiful match that ended with a beautiful score.

Turkey’s Voluntary Ambassadors

YTB operates in three fields of activity, namely our citizens abroad, related communities from the same descent and international students. YTB also contributes to the internationalization of the higher education in our country with the scholarships it provides to the international students from all around the world with the brand “Türkiye Scholarships”. Thereby, YTB hosts the voluntary ambassadors of Turkey in the world. Graduating students never sever their ties with Turkey. With the Turkey Graduates Associations established under the leadership of YTB in various countries in the world, the students both become part of a wide communication network and also never lose their ties with Turkey. Turkey graduates hold high-ranking positions in their home countries, and thus offer important contributions to the relationship between their home countries and Turkey. There are countless names amongst the Turkey graduates whom to this day hold important posts in their own countries, such as Ministers, members of the parliament, rectors and academicians.

 

Important Contributions to Sports

YTB that undertakes activities directed towards our citizens abroad, communities with the same descent and the related communities, provides important contributions to sports as well. Finally, YTB has first realized in Germany, the European Sports and Culture Festival (ASKFEST) in collaboration with the Municipality of Hamm, setting an example for the partnership of two countries’ institutions. In the activity that is a joint festival of Turks and Germans, there have been many diverse branches of sports, from wrestling to table tennis, and the famous footballers who wore the national uniforms of their respective countries did a friendship match in the festival. Also, in recent months YTB organized the celebrations for Nevruz Festival in Eskişehir, a province that has received Cultural Capital of the Turkic World title in 2013, enabling youth and citizens to meet in traditional sports branches such as archery.
