In his speech for the ceremony commemorating the thirtieth anniversary of the forced migration out of Bulgaria, Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) President Abdullah Eren said that the Balkans are one of the most important regions where Muslim Turks have made their mark.

A ceremony was held to commemorate the 30^th anniversary of the Forced Migration out of Bulgaria of 1989 in Kocaeli in partnership between Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and Balkan Turks Solidarity Association for Education and Culture (Bal-Türk). Assimilation policies the Bulgarian government adopted against Turks between 1984 and 1989 were emphasized in the ceremony.
