The Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) carried out many activities in Eskişehir as part of Nevruz celebrations. The students and representatives from the Turkic world came together and enjoyed the colorful scenes of celebrations.

The Nevruz celebrations in Eskişehir was carried out by the YTB and attended by Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, YTB President Abdullah Eren, Eskişehir MP Nabi Avcı, Rector of Anadolu University Prof. Şafak Ertan Çomaklı and General Manager of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) İbrahim Eren, as well as students and representatives from the Turkic world.

Vice President Fuat Oktay wished that Nevruz, which is celebrated in a very wide geography extending from Central Asia to the Balkans, would bring prosperity for humanity. “Nevruz is a festival of abundance and compassion, originated in Turkistan. It is the common cultural heritage of the Turkic World. I also would like to thank Anadolu University and the YTB, which both carried out the event and brought us together,” he added.

Speaking at the event, YTB President Abdullah Eren underlined that Turkey had a wide geography of the heart beyond its official borders. Stating that the YTB has been conducting various efforts to re-establish warm and sincere relations with brother and related communities from all over the world, Eren said, “We are the remains of an empire. There are Turkic speaking communities from the entire world. We are obliged to pursue warm and sincere relations with these communities.”
