The closing and certificate ceremonies were held with regard to the “YTB Turkey Interships” Program, which was carried out for the sixth time this year by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) in order to enable our young people who study abroad to strengthen their ties with our country and help them get more insight into our institutions and organizations in the course of their career planning.
As part of the program, our 25 young citizens from various countries of the world were provided with internship opportunities in numerous public institutions and organisations of Turkey. Furthermore, they attended many educational, cultural and travel events, organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) in order to ensure that they could get to know our culture further and enhance their proficiency in Turkish. At the end of the event, President Abdullah Eren presented their certificates to participants.
Speaking at the event, Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), said that the program was very productive. Underlying that the YTB attaches great importance to our young citizens living in Europe, Eren said, “We know that the future of Turkish society depends on young people.” Eren was also informed on the experiences gained by participants from countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Austria and Australia throughout the event. President Eren also pointed out the rise of rightist-populist discourses in Europe, saying, “There is unfortunately the rise of rightist populism in Europe, which has been suffering an identity crisis within itself. Besides, they haven’t decided yet how to get out of this crisis.”
