Students in 86 Countries Are Interviewed in 100 Different Places to Be Selected One of the Students among 10 Thousand Students Receiving Education in Turkey with 'TÜRKİYE SCHOLARSHIPS'
Students from all around the world lined up to receive qualified higher education in Turkey.
The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities have been conducting interviews in 86 countries within the framework of "2019 Türkiye Scholarships," a program which offers international students the opportunity to study in Turkey.
Nearly 10,000 students in more than 100 points and in 86 countries compete with each other to study at various universities of Turkey. Successful candidates in interviews conducted by academicians and YTB expert staff will have the opportunity to study in Turkish universities.
147 THOUSAND STUDENTS APPLIED
In the first year after Türkiye Scholarship program was announced, 35 thousand applicants from 90 countries rushed to apply for the program. This number increased to 135 thousand by 2018 (last year). In 2019, a record application for scholarships was made with 147 thousand applications from 167 countries.
Türkiye Scholarships are available online every year for only foreign nationals. Students who submit the required documents online and pass the first evaluation stage are invited to interview at more than 100 points in the world.
Candidates who are successful in interviews conducted by academicians and YTB expert staff are eligible to receive scholarships. Following their Turkish language education in Turkey in the first year, students are placed in universities according to their preferences.
HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS ARE ALSO COVERED
Currently, 17,500 young people from 160 countries benefit from the "Türkiye Scholarships" and are studying in universities in various cities of Turkey.
Türkiye Scholarships granted for undergraduate, graduate, doctorate studies and scientific researchers also cover student’s monthly stipend, housing and food expenses. Health insurance premiums are paid for the duration of the scholarship recipients’ stay in Turkey. YTB also covers the round ticket between Turkey and their home country.
TURKEY ALUMNI FAMILY REACHED 150,000
Türkiye Scholarships continue to keep in touch and cooperate with graduate students thanks to the its Alumni Association. Currently, there are more than 30 alumni associations in 25 countries. The number of international graduates has reached 150,000 from 160 different countries since the 1950s.
