Thousands Have Been Reached in Related Communities through YTB Projects

YTB reached many people of the same descent and related communities living all across the world with hundreds of signature projects in the first half of this year.

Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), with the purpose of strengthening the relations with the people of same descent and related communities living all across the world, actualized hundreds of projects in the first 6 months of this year and reached thousands of people.

According to the written declaration by YTB, the Presidency puts its signature to hundreds of projects each year for the reconstruction of deep historical and cultural ties between Turkish people of same descent and related communities living in a vast geography from Balkans to Central Asia, from Middle East to Africa.

This year as well, YTB continued its projects at full throttle, with the activities it has organized all around the world and realized economic, social and cultural activities that would increase the welfare level of these communities.

YTB reached 1,737 young people through 22 projects within the scope of its activities in the first 6 months of the year, along with 45 activities with themes of culture, arts and sports that were offered to 20 thousand 957 people.

In addition, young students from 607 high school and universities in 13 different countries were hosted in Turkey through several programs.

Presidency has also sent 5 thousand 500 printed materials to universities, research centers and libraries all around the world and provided publishing support to 4 works on common history of Turkish people in 7 thousand copies.

YTB distributed 17 thousand and 455 education materials to 7 countries on the subjects of culture, art, economy, law, history, politics and sociology.

Works to Keep Alive the Common History

Through cooperation of YTB and Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ), a book and documentary on intangible cultural heritage of Uighurs have been prepared.

Within the scope of the project, 2 works that were formed as a result of 3-months fieldwork in Kazakhstan have been published in 5 thousand 500 copies.

The goal of these work is to bequeath the life and culture of Uighurs living in Kazakhstan to coming generations.

Moreover, YTB has provided publication support to books titled, “Ottoman History and Institutions,” “The Belgrade of Rashid Bey,” “Sources of Wisdom in Balkans,” “Daily Life and Traditions of Muslims Living in Yeni Pazar Sanjak”.

 

Training Given to Increase the Welfare Level of Sister Communities

YTB also provided various trainings to sister and related communities in areas such as culture, art, history, media, health, politics and sociology.

Within this scope, several activities have been realized regarding common history and cultural heritage with the “Balkan Youth School” program, monthly seminars, book and documentary reading workshops, Ottoman language courses, translations and publications, panels and cultural travels.

“Future Generation Academy” was launched to allow the youth of the sister communities to actively participate in the social, cultural and political life of the countries they live in.

Within the scope of the “Turkic World Emergency Medicine Education Program” (TAEP) that aims to increase the qualifications of Uzbek doctors, Turkish doctors shared their experiences in emergency services with Uzbek doctors.

In addition, 20 Muslims originating from Arakan and living 12 countries around the world, with experience in media and working actively in non-governmental organizations, are given media training.

22 projects implemented within this context provided education to 1,737 young people.

YTB hosted student youth coming from 607 high school and universities in 13 countries within the framework of cultural programs.

The young people who had an opportunity to visit several cities of Turkey had a chance to discover historical and cultural heritage right at its source.

Sister diasporas brought together

Within the scope of the activities organized by YTB, commemorative programs for people who left their footprints in the common heritage were held.

Traditional ceremonies of the Nevruz celebrations in which students and representatives of Turkic world came together were performed.

With the “Training Program for Joint Capacity Development aimed at the Representatives of Turkish-Speaking Diaspora’s Non-Governmental Organizations” hosted by YTB brought together the sister diasporas in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan for the first time.

Also, within the scope of the program held in the capital city of Germany, Berlin, cooperation opportunities in joint projects were considered.
