The Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) organized various activities for orphans under the “Cultural Gatherings of Land of Heart” program in Lebanon.
YTB held a traditional Turkish theatre play for more than 650 orphans in Tripoli at the north of the country in cooperation with the “Lebanese Turkish Association” and the “Independent Performing Arts and Education Association (MÜSSED)”.
The event that included folk dances, a sema show, an animation screening, and Meddah and Orta Oyunu (traditional Turkish theatrical plays) performances as well as Hacivat-Karagöz plays (Turkish shadow play) drew great attention from children.
Children of age 4 to 10 had joyful moments from listening to the Turkish music performance and accompanying the songs with their claps.
The “Cultural Gatherings of Land of Heart” program organized to strengthen the cultural and social links with sister and related communities in Lebanon will continue for two days.
Hakan Çakıl, Turkish Ambassador in Beirut, and representatives from Lebanese non-governmental organizations are expected to attend the events which will continue in the villages of Turkmen Aydamun and Kaweishra seated at the north of the country.
