Our President Abdullah Eren said that up to 200 thousand international students are expected to be hosted in Turkey by 2023.

Our President Abdullah Eren mentioned about the works of YTB and the Turkish scholarships given to the international students in an activity he attended in the United Nations (UN) Headquarters.

Our President Eren explained that YTB was founded in 2010 and one of its priorities is to develop and maintain ties with citizens living abroad and mentioned that they want to strenghten the ties between the geographies having common historical and cultural heritages by making more cultural and social activities.

Eren, giving information about international students studying in Turkey, also referred to the higher education and scholarships offered to the international students.

THERE ARE MORE THAN 150 THOUSAND FOREIGN STUDENTS IN TURKEY

Our President Eren stated that there are globally 7 million international students in 2019 and there are more than 150 thousand international students in Turkey and said that this figure increased 7 times in the last 10 years.

Eren stated that 17 thousand international students in Turkey were given scholarships by YTB and said ''Turkey aims to host up to 200 thousand international students in 2023. We aim to make Turkey a global center in the field of higher education.''

Eren, telling us that a student named Cemil who lived in a village in Uganda was unable to continue his education due to the financial situation of his family but Cemil saw 'Turkey Scholarships' on the walls of Turkey's Kampala Embassy and received training in the field of economics and became a hope for his village, stated that these scholarships also support growing up qualified individuals for the future of disadvantaged countries.
