“YTB Communication Academy 2019” Took Place
“YTB Communication Academy 2019” held in Strasbourg, France by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) ended. Under the programme, presentations on important issues in the field of media and communication were delivered to Turkish media members working in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany.
The “YTB Communication Academy 2019” programme was held in Strasbourg, France by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). Under the programme which took two days, courses on media and communication were given by specialized instructors to Turkish media members working in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany.
On the first day of the academy, Anadolu Agency (AA) Turkey News Editor Hasan Öymez gave a presentation titled “The Use of Media by Terrorist Organizations”. In his speech where he gave examples of the efforts of the organizations including ISIS, PKK and FETO to create an anti-Turkey perception, Öymez told how certain international media organizations supported this anti-Turkey campaign at the expense of violating professional ethics.
Within the academy, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Adıgüzel from Istanbul University gave speeches titled “The Past, Present, and Future of the Diaspora” and “Current Affairs of Turkey”. Adıgüzel emphasized that Turkey-origin people who live in the European countries should take a more active role in politics and be represented more in many areas, mainly politics.
TRT Belgium Representative Döndü Sarıışık provided information on “News Gathering-Writing” and “Editing and Reporting” and presented examples of her own experiences. Also, presentations on various topics including “Professional Liability and Ethics”, “Migration and Media Language”, and “Intercultural Communication” were delivered to media members under the programme.
