YTB Organized Geography of Hearts Meetings All Around the World
At the fast-breaking programs all around the world organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), tens of thousands of people experienced the unity and solidarity of the spirit of Ramadan. In the programs with hundreds of dinner tables, children enjoyed the traditional performing arts, theatre performances and the traditional shadow-play, Hacivat & Karagöz
The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities brought together the citizens living abroad, communities with similar roots and related communities, international students and Graduates from Turkey at fast-breaking (“iftar”) programs. In the fast-breaking programs, there were Turkish performing arts, sema performances, theatres and many traditional plays, including various activities for children. The fast-breaking events were held in several countries from Europe, Balkans, Western Thrace, Africa to Turkic Republics and in different cities of TRNC to experience all together the spirit of unity and solidarity.
ACTIVITIES WITH TRADITIONAL PLAYS
Within Ramadan month, YTB organized activities all around the world, including the Europe and the Balkans. With the scope of activities, fast breaking dinners were held at different cities of Macedonia, Kosovo, Western Thrace, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Germany. Along with these, “Youth Fast-Breaking Dinners” events were held with the young citizens who attended YTB’s programs in many cities of Europe. Within the scope of the “Cultural Meetings of Geography of Hearts”, approximately 20 thousand people with roots in Turkey met at 2 countries and 8 cities of the Balkans at our fast-breaking dinners. In the programs, following fast-breaking dinners, there were many activities in which Turkish art and culture were introduced and the traditional shadow-play Hacivat & Karagöz, and theatre for children were performed.
YTB held fast-breaking dinner programs within the scope of the “Cultural Meetings of Geography of Hearts” at new Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the regions of Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch Operations. These programs brought together the people of the region and the orphan children.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AND GRADUATES MET AT FAST-BREAKING DINNER TABLE
The “Fast-Breaking Dinners of Geography of Hearts” that was introduced by YTB and Ankara Social Sciences University for international students studying at Ankara hosted tens of countries throughout the month of Ramadan. During these programs international students living thousands of kilometers away from their homes met at the same table. International students who had to chance to experience the month of Ramadan away from their home-countries, but with the spirit of unity and solidarity, also had the chance to introduce their home countries with the program. On each day of the program a different country’s culture was introduced and local flavors of that country were offered to the students.
Graduates of Turkey, who received undergraduate, master’s degree and PhD level education within the scope of YTB’s Türkiye Scholarships and then returned to their home-countries, also gathered together with the fast-breaking programs. In the programs held by Turkey Graduates Association of Somalia, Kosovo, Albania, Palestine, Turkey and Tatarstan enjoyed the month of Ramadan in spirit of fraternity.
