YTB Surprises mother of Indonesian Student on Mother's Day
The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) helped an Indonesian student who has not been seeing his mother for two years reunite with her, despite 15000 km distance between them.
Sıfatuddaıyyah Mufidah is an undergraduate student of economics at Ankara Hacı Bayramı Veli University and a scholarship recipient of Türkiye Scholarships. He was unable to visit his hometown for two years. YTB offered two plane and a ship ticket for the student on the occasion of the Mother’s Day. After the long journey, he could embrace his mother in a moment filled with emotions.
The student posted the meeting in Indonesia's city of Balikpapan on his social media account.
Nahwaul Mufidah who is an Indonesian student studying in Turkey thanks to Türkiye Scholarship said that "I offer my deepest gratitude to Turkey for welcoming me like a mother does and to the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities for helping me meet with my mother on #mother'sday after not seeing her for a long time due to the long distance. I would like to also thank President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for providing this education opportunity."
