YTB’s Meeting with Press on its 10th Anniversary

Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism met with the Ankara representatives of the press organizations on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB). Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism and Abdullah Eren, President of YTB also attended the program held at YTB premises. Explaining the works of YTB, Minister Ersoy drew attention to the activities carried out in 2019.

Emphasizing the fact that YTB is a mechanism that responds to the needs of citizens living abroad by adapting to any condition in the most powerful and right way, Minister Ersoy said that YTB carried out very important works in the field of education and for Turkish language in 2019. Drawing attention to the fact that the number of these studies increased nearly four times compared to 2018, Minister Ersoy said, “239 projects and activities, some of which are still ongoing, were launched with the participation of 14,000 children and adolescents. The number of participants, which was 3 thousand in 2018, rose nearly 4 times in 2019”.

Giving a speech in the program, Abdullah Eren, the President of YTB stated that they want to have accomplishments in their field of duty through works contributing to the value of Turkey. Stating that YTB is closely following the attacks targeting Turkish citizens abroad, YTB President Eren said, “We prepare reports on human rights regarding the attacks and send them to relevant authorities”. “We also offer legal support to our victims” he said. President Eren also mentioned YTB’s works in relation to the international students studying in Turkey and said “Our alumni associations do not only preserve the ties of our international students with Turkey after they return to their countries, but also significantly support Turkey’s fight against organizations such as FETÖ, especially in the field of education.
